The White Suit

Written by  Ivie Okhions
Our fashion editor Ivie Okhions is the focus of this weeks 'Style Tip' Here she effortlessly demonstrates how 'The White Suit' can look elegant, edgy and youthful. Many of us have become accustomed to throwing on a dress when we want to add a bit of glam, but here Ivie shows us there are other options. Why not try it?

"I love everything about this look and I instantly felt glamorous as soon as I put on the blazer. It’s a simple look to pull off and can work with different body types. However the ‘fit’ of the suit is very important.

I wanted to keep the look as simple as possible to show off the effortlessness of it all. I paired it with a long gold cuff to illuminate the whiteness of the outfit. The vintage box hat adds that old Hollywood glamour.

Next time you have a social gathering, instead of a dress put add a little twist to your personal style and show up in a white trouser suit. It's daring and out of the box, plus the most elegant women such as Bianca Jagger, Josephine Baker and Marlene Dietrich have shown us that women can look as alluring and sexy in a suit, as they would in a beautiful dress.

There are currently loads of white pieces on the high street that will definitely suit you. My golden rule is you should always go for looks that compliment your style and figure. If you don’t like wide leg trousers you can also mix up the look with white cigarette trousers or capri trousers with a shorter length blazer"
