Blogger Spotlight: Krystal Lopez
Here at ‘The Tip’ we point the Blogger Spotlight at Krystal Lopez the actress and fashionista behind the fashion blog "LOVE MAKES PEACE".

What inspired you to start your blog?
Like other fashion bloggers I was inspired by the love of fashion. I wanted to study fashion but where I lived there were no schools that offered a major directly related to it. When I had applied to fashion schools in other states I was denied for not having any prior experience in it. So I turned to blogging and decided I would just share my love with other enthusiasts.

How much has your personal style evolved over the years and are there any outfits you've posted that you regret?
My style has evolved and changed immensely right along with me. As my life and personality changes so does my interest in certain styles. When I first began blogging I was very rocker/ grunge. I never wore colours and the tougher I looked, the better. I eventually left that stage and as I did I actually closed down my first blog with it because I didn't feel any of it reflected me anymore. Yes, there are tons of outfits that I posted that I later on regretted! That is one of the reason I restarted my blog so many times! I must have went through 3 blogs before settling on LOVE MAKES THE PEACE!

I suppose the biggest change in my style is that I'm not afraid to dress in a more feminine vulnerable manner. Also, I am realizing I am a minimalist and 'm not huge on accessories although I do like a few here and there.

There's an underlying emphasis on freedom and non-conformity in your blog, how did you come to such a place, specifically in relation to your clothes?
I wish I could tell you how but I honestly don't know. It had to be a gradual undertaking.  I just focus on what I like. Screw what magazines and the rest of the world says you should be wearing. Yes, I look to them for inspiration but I refuse to wear something just because it is "in" or stop wearing something just because it is "out".

I just go with what makes me feel fantastic and goes along with whatever image I am trying to portray. I try to pay attention to what my outfit is saying about me and whether it adds up to the truth or not.

What's your main source of style inspiration? And how do you stay inspired?
I don't really have a main source. I look to everything. Runway shows, lookbooks, fellow bloggers, celebrities, magazine etc they all inspire me. I like to surf the internet and look at what's new at my favorite stores online. I'm always trying to find a million ways to wear the same items. Plus, it doesn't hurt to play dress up by yourself, as silly as it sounds!  Trying random things in your own closet on can lead to some surprising results.

What are the 5 items in your wardrobe you can't live without?
This is difficult!  My denim shirt, skinny jeans,  Jeffrey Campbell Brit boots, my pale pink Urban Outfitters romper (perfect for lazy days) and my white Balenciaga's sandals, as they automatically take any outfit up a notch

Finally, what are your ambitions for the future?
Well, I'm actually an actress. The long stints between my posts have a lot to do with me being busy filming. There are many talented fashion conscious actresses, I hope to run among that crowd. Also, to get into that fashion school that denied me, ‘no' is not a word I comprehend!
